JINR Newsletter #15, 23 April 2025Dear colleagues and friends, This week’s key event, the Joint Institute Days in Uzbekistan, started with JINR and the Republic’s Academy of Sciences signing a cooperation agreement. The numerous planned events as part of the Days will greatly promote cooperation with Uzbekistan, enriching knowledge in the country through joint research. Partnership development prospects were at the top of the agenda of another event last week. Following the 26th JEMS international training course, a round table took place, focusing on ways to expand the Institute’s collaboration with higher education institutions through Information Centres in order to strengthen JINR’s role as a hub for knowledge exchange. CooperationJINR Days in Uzbekistan started in Academy of Sciences of Republic of UzbekistanFrom 22 to 24 April, JINR delegates are presenting the Institute’s activities and discussing cooperation prospects with Uzbekistan colleagues. A key event was JINR signing a cooperation agreement with the Republic’s Academy of Sciences. JEMS participants shared feedback on the programme and took part in discussing cooperation, particularly through developing the JINR Information Centres. READ MORE ➟EducationMoscow State University branch in Dubna is of great worth to JINRJINR representatives, together with the branch’s professors, employees, students, and graduates, celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Department of Fundamental Nuclear Interactions. They discussed the department’s achievements, close partnership with the Institute, and further plans. READ MORE ➟AnnouncementsWorkshop on superconducting and magnetic hybrid structures: registration continuesThe Laboratory of Theoretical Physics will host the event on 7–10 July in person. The workshop will include plenary and oral presentations along with a poster session of young researchers. Registration is available until 10 May via the link. READ MORE ➟Russian Science Foundation accepts grant applicationsThree competitions are now available. Scientific teams can receive grants for research under the supervision of foreign scientists, get funding for international research, or have deadlines for projects supported by the Foundation’s grants in 2022 extended. READ MORE ➟Open day at Dubna branch of Moscow State UniversityThe event will take place online on 27 April, at 1:00 PM, Moscow time. The speakers will provide detailed information on a new Master’s course, “Methods and technologies of data processing in heterogeneous computing environments”. READ MORE ➟Literature and music evening dedicated to Victory DayOn 25 April, at 5:00 PM, the JINR Scientists’ Club will host an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. The programme will include a talk about Mikhail Meshcheryakov’s experience at the front line and a play by Kvadrat Theatre.
