The year 2019 was one of the most successful in the JINR modern history. The Superheavy Element Factory was opened, the DC-280 cyclotron was brought into operation; technological tests of the booster of the NICA accelerating complex started; festive opening of the first cluster of the NICA Computing Centre took place; two new clusters of optical modules of the Baikal deep underwater neutrino telescope were put into operation in addition to the three already operating during the Baikal expedition; the modernized supercomputer “Govorun” won the 10th place in Top-50 list of most powerful supercomputers in the CIS countries; the session of the Committee of Plenipotentiary Representatives of the JINR Member States took place in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, for the first time; the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and the State Corporation “Rosatom” signed a cooperation Agreement in Moscow; the unveiling ceremony of the monument to I. M. Frank, a Nobel Prize holder and the first Director of the Laboratory of Neutron Physics, was held in Dubna.
