On 19 January 2018, President of the New Mongol Academy Janchiv Galbadrakh visited JINR accompanied by Ochirbat Nyamsuren, Head of the Department of Natural Sciences of the New Mongol Institute of Technology. Head of the Mongolian national group of JINR, Head of the LIT SDCP Sector Ochbadrah Chuluunbaatar accompanied the Mongolian guests at the JINR territory.

The visit of the Mongolian representatives started at the JINR Directorate where guests were warmly welcomed by JINR Vice-Director Mikhail Itkis, JINR Chief Scientific Secretary Alexander Sorin, Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department Dmitry Kamanin, LRB Director Evgeny Krasavin, Director of the FLNP CMP Department Alexander Belushkin and a representative of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia academician Deleg Sangaa. In the course of the visit, the Mongolian guests noted that engineering professions are in high demand in Mongolia nowadays and training of staff in this field needs, in this turn, active development of fundamental science.

In the JINR Visit Centre, guests were given an introductory lecture on activities of the JINR University Centre and its educational programmes, and met Director of the JINR University Centre Stanislav Pakuliak. Acquaintance with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research was continued in the Laboratory of Information Technologies, the Laboratory of Radiation Biology and the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics.

On the results of the visit the parties agreed to elaborate further steps on development of contacts on the sidelines of the upcoming International Conference “Modern Trends in Natural Sciences and Advanced Technologies in Science Education” that will be held on 20 – 24 August 2018 in Ulaanbaator, Mongolia. One of the honorary Chairmen of the Conference is Janchiv Galbadrakh.
