News, 05 June 2019
The International Workshop “SPD at NICA-2019” is held from 4 to 8 June 2019 in the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics. The workshop is next in the series of meetings on problems of polarization phenomena in particle and nuclear physics and astrophysics related to the particles’ spin and nucleon spin structure.
This year, the workshop is devoted to the Spin Physics Detector (SPD) project at NICA. One of the main goals of the workshop is to start building an international collaboration to design and build the SPD as well as to prepare and carry out physical experiments at it.
More than 120 specialists from leading accelerator centres of Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ukraine, and research organizations of the Russian Federation as well will take part in the workshop.
About 50 scientific reports will be presented at the workshop; discussions in a round-table format will be held. Moreover, participants will have excursions around the NICA accelerator complex under construction and the factory of superconducting magnets.
