On 20 March 2018, the elections of the Chairman of the AYSS Council were held at a General meeting of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR, which was held in the Conference hall of the Laboratory of Information Technologies JINR. According to the agenda prior to this acting Chairman of the Association Alexander Verkheev made a report on the AYSS activities in 2017.

According to the protocol № 003 dated 22 March 2018, the elections were recognized as valid, Alexander Verkheev was elected as Chairman of the AYSS Council. The membership of the AYSS Council was approved in the following composition: D. Baygarashev, A. Bezbakh, A. Bogomolova, N. Voytishin, A. Rutkauskas, Yu. Severukhin, Yu. Stepanenko, A. Friesen.
