It is planned to create a production of superconducting resonators for scientific accelerator complexes in Belarus. Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Grigory Trubnikov and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Republic of Belarus in JINR, Chairman of the State Science and Engineering Committee of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Shumilin discussed it at a meeting held on 4 June in Minsk.

The parties noted considerable fruitful cooperation of scientific organizations with JINR. Thus, such organizations develop and supply mechanical structures and products, as well as serial batches of circuit boards, integrated circuits, and low-voltage power systems, gas detectors for the NICA mega-science project. In addition, participants noted a considerable contribution of NRNU MEPhI to the development of production of superconducting resonators in cooperation with JINR. Moreover, serial batches of circuit boards and panels for cooling the calorimeter prototype are provided for experiments at the Large Hadron Collider within the JINR-CERN cooperation.

Participants of the meeting discussed the strengthening of the participation of high-tech enterprises of Belarus in the development of superconducting technologies for future studies and the creation of components for applied purposes.

Participants of the event discussed the coordination of the concept of the scientific and technical programme of the Union State the Accelerator Complex Based on Superconducting Resonators (SCR Accelerator). “This work is an important example of deep scientific and technical cooperation between scientists of Belarus and JINR. The results obtained will be the future basis for new bilateral projects and the creation of high-tech production in Belarus. Thus, the country will join the club of states able to produce such unique devices”, Alexander Shumilin highlighted.

During the visit to Belarus, the JINR delegation also visited the Institute for Nuclear Problems of Belarusian State University and met with heads of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
