The Forum «JINR-Egypt. 5 years together» was opened

The opening of the Forum “JINR-Egypt. 5 years together” devoted to the five-year fruitful cooperation between the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and research centers of Egypt was held on 2 March 2015 in the city named after 6 October near Cairo.

The forum was organized with the support of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and attracted wide public interest. The opening ceremony was covered by 6 national TV channels and numerous representatives of press and radio. The first day of the forum was attended by approximately one hundred participants. A JINR delegation of 33 people was headed by JINR Vice-Director Richard Lednický. The JINR delegation included representatives the Directorates of JINR laboratories and UC, heads of joint research projects, and young scientists.Coordinator of the ARE-JINR cooperation Professor Tarek Hussein, JINR Vice-Director Professor Richard Lednický, Vice-Chairman of the Atomic Energy Agency of Egypt Professor Samy Ata-Allah and President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt Professor Mahmoud Sakr made their welcoming speeches at the opening of the Forum. Representatives of the Egyptian side emphasized the particular importance of relations with JINR as the most rapidly developing area of international scientific cooperation in Egypt.

The programme of the forum included two days of plenary sessions and visits to the Egyptian scientific organizations with advanced seminars. A meeting of the Joint committee on Egypt-JINR cooperation was held on the sidelines of the forum.
