A Round Table dedicated to the International Youth Day

The Youth Relations Department of the Main Office of Social Communications (MOSC) of the Moscow Region and young representatives of the JINR Member States held a Round Table dedicated to the International Youth Day.

On 12 August 2015, JINR and the MOSC of the Moscow Region held a meeting to discuss proposals of young scientific researchers of the JINR Member States in the frames of the Governmental Programme of the Moscow Region for 2016-2019 “On implementation of youth policy on the territory of the Moscow region”. The meeting was held in the International Conference Hall, JINR.

The meeting was attended by Chief of the Youth Relations Department Kirill Litvitsky, JINR Chief Engineer Grigori Shirkov, Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department Dmitri Kamanin, AYSS Chairman Vratislav Chudoba as well as representatives of the State University for Nature, Society and Man «Dubna», representatives of the management of the Special Economical Zone “Dubna”, young researchers – representatives of the JINR Member States.

Before the beginning of the discussion Kirill Litvitsky made a presentation of the Programme of the Moscow Region “On implementation of youth policy on the territory of Moscow region” for the period 2016-2019. Grigori Shirkov made an overview report about the JINR activity and its major fields of research, Dmitri Kamanin spoke about the mega-project NICA. Director of the JINR Social Infrastructure Management Office Andrei Tamonov spoke about the events organized by JINR in support of young scientists. The average number of these events is about 20 per year. JINR also serves as a venue for some schools, such as the School "Russian reporter", which welcomes about 1000 people a year. Representatives of young scientists of the JINR Member States proposed to include JINR as a guest and as participant of educational programmes of the Moscow region, to establish a platform for cooperation between universities of the Moscow region and JINR.

In the frames of the discussion, representatives of the youth of the JINR Member States spoke to the management of the MOSC about the pressing issues related to arrival, employment and adaptation of young employees, as well as they put forward a number of proposals to simplify these procedures.

Representatives the JINR Member States (Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Russia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic) as well as representatives of the USA and Turkey took part in the debates.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitri Kamanin expressed his gratitude to all those present and emphasized that JINR, in addition to its scientific research priorities, is ready to make efforts for development of cooperation with interested organizations in support of young specialists, to serve as a "gateway" for the young professionals, to become a mentor for them, to share experience in the framework of projects of the international level.  Dmitri Kamanin also noted readiness of JINR to participate in projects of the Main Office of Social Communications of the Moscow Region in order to inform citizens of our region about activities and achievements of JINR and opportunities that may be granted to young specialists in the process of improving their professional level.
