The Forum “JINR-Egypt. 5 years together” which was started on 2 March 2015 in the city named after 6 October was finished on 6 March 2015 in Cairo. JINR formed a big international team to participate in the Forum: in addition to Russian employees the Forum was attended by 4 representatives of Romania (three members of JINR and an invited expert), two employees from Tajikistan, by one employee from Germany, Mongolia, Slovakia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and one invited expert from Norway.

The plenary session included 34 presentations. The first day included review reports on JINR as a whole as well as on the laboratories: FLNR, DLNP, FLNP, LIT. The NICA mega-project, educational programmes of the UC and the University “Dubna” were presented. The Egyptian side presented an overview of the JINR-Egypt cooperation, the programme of cooperation with CERN, the SESAME project, educational programmes. On the second day of the Forum participants presented reports on joint projects in the fields of nuclear methods, distributed computing, theory and modeling.

On 5 March, the JINR delegation, divided into groups, and visited Egyptian research and education organization where sectional sessions were held: Cairo University, the National Research Center, the Egyptian Centre for Theoretical Physics, the Suez Canal University. The largest part of the delegation – 11 people – went to the Egyptian Atomic Energy Agency on the advanced seminar on development of cooperation between JINR and EAEA. Lectures about the major activities of the JINR Laboratories were presented to staff members of the Agency. The ceremonial opening of the seminar was attended by Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Egypt S.V. Kirpichenko. A discussion of the results of the Forum and plans for development of cooperation between Egypt and JINR for the next five years concluded the seminar.
