A meeting of organizations from BRICS countries which finance development projects in science and technology was held on Monday, 6 July 2015 in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. A JINR delegation consisting of JINR Vice-Director G.V. Trubnikov and Head of the JINR International Cooperation Department D.V. Kamanin took part in its work. At the beginning of the meeting G.V. Trubnikov presented an overview of the major research infrastructures of BRICS countries and informed participants about JINR cooperation with BRICS countries and opportunities of JINR on implementation of joint projects. The next day, July 7, in order to get acquainted with the major JINR projects, participants from Brazil came to Dubna: Fernando Ribeiro, Director on Innovation, FINEP (National Agency for Innovation), Dr. Sergio Luiz Gargioni, President of the Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP), Dr. Maria Zaira Turchi, Vice-President of the Brazilian National Council of State Funding Agencies (CONFAP) and President of the State Funding Agency of Goias (FAPEG). And Ms. Rongfang Wang from China, Director of Division of International Organizations and Conferences, Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology also came to Dubna. The guests visited the Laboratory for High Energy Physics and the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions, where they got acquainted with work on construction of the NICA mega-project and work on synthesis of super heavy elements and study of the properties of light exotic nuclei. At a meeting with JINR Director V.A. Matveev prospects of participation of Brazil and China in JINR were discussed. The increased intensity of contacts of JINR with BRICS countries and their interest in participation in many projects of the Institute were noted. In particular, the positive results of the previous multi-disciplinary forums India-JINR and Brazil-JINR and plans to hold a similar forum with China in 2016 were mentioned. The forum in China will be devoted to the 60th anniversary of JINR and China was one of the founders of the Institute in 1956.
