The 58th anniversary of JINR! Greetings, congratulations

The festively decorated Cultural Center “Mir” met participants and guests of the festive event – the foundation day of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The most striking landmarks in the life of the Institute in 2013 were recreated in the movie, which the audience of the Cultural Center warmly greeted.
 
Opening of a photo exhibition dedicated to the 60th anniversary of CERN and JINR’s participation in activities of this international scientific organization was held In the Small Hall of the CC “Mir”. JINR Director V.A. Matveev and representative of CERN Rüdiger Voss presented their reports at the opening of the exhibition.

Our international scientific center in Dubna near Moscow has been functioning for 58 years. JINR Director Academician V.A. Matveev heartily congratulated the audience on this date. Now, noted V.A. Matveev, our Institute brings together scientists and experts from 18 Member States and 6 members associated with JINR. The international prestige of JINR as an intergovernmental organization in the Russian Federation has significantly increased in recent years; its relationship with the international scientific organizations and higher authorities of the European Union strengthened. The most impressive results which were obtained by JINR staff members in recent time were named in the welcoming speech of JINR Director.

JINR Director noted that the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, as an international organization established for cooperation among scientists in peaceful purposes, has shown the world the attractive force of new scientific knowledge and the unprecedented strength of bonds that unite people of science.

V.A. Matveev wished JINR staff members and their families good health, happiness and prosperity, every success in their scientific research and industrial work.

JINR Director traditionally presented diplomas and flowers to Dubna school teachers who won the competition for JINR grants. Among them were Tatiana Milentinovna Pulyaeva, mathematics teacher of the school №7, Larisa Alekseevna Balakshina,  physics teacher at the Lyceum "Dubna", Marina Vitalievna Filippova biology teacher of the school №9, Olga Vladimirovna Shetsova, teacher of computer science at the Lyceum "Dubna", Tatiana Gennadievna Lepeshkina foreign language teacher of the school №9, Svetlana Leonardovna Agafonova teacher of history and social science at the Lyceum "Dubna", Olga Anatolievna Epelbaum, teacher of the Russian language and literature of the gymnasium №3, Ludmila Efimovna Kutiena geography teacher of the gymnasium № 3, Galina Petrovna Popruzhnaya, primary school teacher of the gymnasium №8, Tsvetana Alexandrovna Barinyak, primary school teacher of the school "Vozmozhnost".

A great festive concert of the ensemble of the American Association of professional singers and the "Orpheus" radio Symphonic Orchestra concluded the festive day.
