The Open Day of the JINR basic departments was held on 20 January 2017 in the State University “Dubna”.

In the frames of the event, the Department of Distributed Informational Computing Systems (DICS) in the Laboratory of Information Technologies (LIT) was visited by 24 school students, most of whom are students of 11th grade of Dubna schools. The visit was started with a welcoming tea. After that LIT Director V.V. Korenkov spoke about the areas of research and achievements of the Laboratory. Graduates of the Institute of System Analysis and Management of the University “Dubna” (Artem Petrosyan, Nikita Balashov, Igor Plevnik, Elena Mazhitova, Shushanik Torosyan, Maxim Basharin) made presentations for the students. The graduates shared their experience of working in the Laboratory; spoke about their participation in various scientific events, developments, projects and achievements in professional activity. At present, 30 graduates of the University “Dubna” work in the Laboratory. The programme of the event was finished with a tour on the basic facility of LIT JINR – Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex (MICC). During this visit the school students saw interesting historical models of computers, and they were also acquainted with modern systems of MICC, which plays an important role in processing and storage of data of many experiments, including the Large Hadron Collider at CERN and the NICA complex which is being constructed.
