At the past Session of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States held on 24 – 25 November 2017, Education and Science Deputy Minister of the RF, Academician G.V.Trubnikov was elected as Chairman of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries.

“For the Russian Federation this position is of high importance,” G.V.Trubnikov comments his appointment, – “because in December 2016 Russian President signed the science and technology development strategy, and one of the key elements of it is international science cooperation. Every effort will be made to make Russian science international; and development of scientific centres, like JINR, is one of our key priorities … I hope that JINR and its Member States will successfully implement the Seven-Year Plan for the development of JINR that is an excellent example of open multilateral scientific cooperation for Russia and other JINR Member States.”

Observers from Hungary, Germany, Serbia, Italy, and CERN participated in the Session apart from Plenipotentiaries of the JINR Member States.

The next Session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States is planned to be held in March 2018.
