MIPT holds Biomembranes’18
News, 31 July 2018
The International Conference Biomembranes 2018 will be held on 1 – 5 October 2018 at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT State University), Dolgoprudny, Moscow region, Russia. The International Conference is held in the frames of the International Conference Series “Virtual Human Imaging Across Scales”. The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is one of the organizers of the Conference.
The programme comprises more than 40 lectures by scientists from Russia, USA, Germany, France, China, Japan and other countries, poster session with the possibility of publishing abstracts in the refereed journal. In parallel, an International School “Mechanisms of aging and age-related diseases” will take place as a satellite event of the Conference.
A major goal of this conference is to provide up-to-date information about research on biomembranes and to consolidate cross-disciplinary international scientific efforts in this field. Our speakers will focus on cutting-edge problems of modern integrative structural biology of biomembranes and membrane proteins, theoretical biophysics of membrane systems and computer modelling. The conference will highlight the role of biomembranes in aging and age-related diseases such as cancer, neurodegenerative (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s) and cardiovascular diseases as well as in applied fields.
The conference will be attended by world-leading scientists. The scientific programme of the conference will be presented by such key speakers as Raymond Stevens and Vadim Cherezov who are pioneers in the study of receptors associated with G-proteins, Marat Yusupov who is the discoverer of the structure of eukaryotic ribosomes, Ernst Bamberg, the founder of optogenetics, Norbert Dancher, first showed fundamental changes in biochemical processes in aging, and many other famous foreign and Russian scientists.
Registration until 14 September, abstract submission until 19 August.
