News, 14 September 2023
On 12 – 13 September, the BM@N Experiment Analysis and Software Meeting took place at VBLHEP. In early September, the first stage of mass processing of data obtained during the eighth run of the xenon beam experiment with energies of 3,0 AGeV and 3,8 AGeV was completed.
During the two-day meeting, the collaboration members heard twenty reports on the most crucial issues of the experiment. The presentations included the analysis status of the processed data, software issues, and the development status for the next experimental run.
At the section dedicated to the software support of the experiment, the issues of computing, software, and mass data processing were discussed. The participants paid attention to the issues of reconstruction of events, challenges in this direction, and possible solutions.
In a separate section, the members of the collaboration discussed the draft of the first article with a detailed description of the experimental facility. It will be sent for publication in the near future.
As part of the event, a meeting of the Institutional Board dedicated to the organizational issues of the BM@N Collaboration was held. Ten specialists under the leadership of Fedor Ratnikov, Candidate of Physics and Mathems, leading researcher at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE, Russia) joined the BM@N Collaboration. The eight-member team of Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Husniddin Olimov from the Physical-Technical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan (PTI ASUz) also joined the collaboration.
