Independence Day of Ukraine

On 24 August, Ukraine, a JINR Member State, celebrates its main holiday – the Independence Day. This year is an anniversary date – Ukraine turns 30 years old as an independent state.
The Republic of Ukraine, as a part of the USSR, joined JINR since its foundation in 1956. Since 1991, Ukraine has been cooperating with JINR as an independent state. Nowadays, the cooperation is carried out in almost all areas of scientific research of the Institute, most intensively in the fields of theoretical physics, research on elementary particle physics and relativistic nuclear physics, condensed matter physics. Scientific institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NAS) are actively cooperating with BLTP, FLNP, and FLNR. Ukrainian scientists are actively involved in the launch of the NICA mega-science project. Scientific schools and forums for Ukrainian teachers and schoolchildren are held on the platform of JINR.
