On 16 and 17 December, the Republic of Kazakhstan, a JINR Member State, celebrates its main national holiday – the Independence Day. This year is an anniversary date – Kazakhstan turns 30 years old as an independent state.
The Republic of Kazakhstan, as a part of the USSR, joined the Institute since its foundation in 1956. Since 1992, Kazakhstan has been cooperating with JINR as an independent state. Fruitful scientific cooperation of Kazakhstani employees with JINR scientists has been continued strengthening and expanding. The community of Kazakhstani young scientists and specialists is one of the biggest in JINR. Kazakhstani scientists are engaged in scientific work in all the JINR laboratories, take an active part in large-scale international megascience projects of the Institute. Thanks to this cooperation, Kazakhstani scientists now have new opportunities for the development of contacts with the world’s largest centres.
