Helmholtz Summer School
Education, 16 August 2018
The Helmholtz International Summer School “Matter under Extreme Conditions in Heavy-Ion Collisions and Astrophysics” will be started on 20 August 2018 in the International Conference Hall in Dubna. The School is organized by the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of JINR in the frames of the DIAS-TH.
The scientific programme of the School includes the following topics: Equation of state and QCD phase transitions; Transport properties in dense QCD matter; Hadronization and freeze-out in heavy ion collisions (HIC); Astrophysics of compact stars and their mergers (CS); Simulations of dense QCD, HIC and CS; Dense matter in strong electromagnetic fields; Experiments and observational programs.
Among participants of the School there are 22 lecturers and 66 students from Armenia, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, France, Germany, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Russia, Ukraine. The lectures will be supplemented by evening discussion sessions. Short reports of the students will be encouraged as well. The lectures will be supplemented with evening discussion sessions to answer studets’ questions and hear, in particular, reports by young participants of the School. School participants are young postdocs, PhD and master students. The Programme also includes an excursion to the VBLHEP JINR and NICA construction site. The extensive scientific programme will be supplemented with the Saturday excursion trip to Sergiev Posad and a concert in the JINR Scientists’ Club.
The School will continue until 31 August.
