FANK: Days of Popular-Science Films

On 6 – 8 December 2017, Days of Popular-Science Films “FANK” will be held in the JINR Universal Public Library, in the framework of which popular-science films will be screened. The FANK project is supported by the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science.
This large-scale educating project – Festival of popular-science films – is held for the third year. From October to December 2017, dozens of Universitites throughout the country have been screening documentary films about science for their students and inquisitive people for free. The project was created with the aim to acquaint the largest possible number of people with contemporary popular-scince films, to evoke interest to science and may be to inspire them to their own research.
Free admission.
Project partners: Russian Geographical Society, SIBUR, RVC, Rosatom, RUSNANO, the T+ group, the “Skolkovo” Open University.
The FANK programme includes films about different scientific fields and their influence on society.

- 6 December 7:00 PM — Episode «Why Do We Lie?» American science documentary television series by Discovery Channel “Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman”
- 7 December 7:00 PM— «Life with bacteria»
- 8 December 7:00 PM — «Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking»
