On 23 March 2018 the JINR Science and Technology Library will open the exhibition of literature devoted to the JINR Foundation Day.

In frames of the exhibition, literature devoted to history of JINR foundation and development of international cooperation with different countries will be presented. Visitors will have an opportunity to get acquainted with not only all Charters of JINR but also with such a historical book as “History of JINR Foundation in decisions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, 1955-1958”. Furthermore, some literature devoted to JINR jubilees and commemorative dates of its laboratories as well as books prepared by JINR laboratories will be presented. Interesting booklets, photo albums and thematic editions will be available at the exhibition.

The JINR Science and Technology Library was founded in 1949 on the basis of the Library of the Hydroengineering Laboratory of the USSR Academy of Sciences. Nowadays, the Library Fund has 434 000 depository items and includes native and foreign literature on physics, mathematics, astrophysics, chemistry, biology, theoretical problems of technical sciences, IT, methodological problems of science at large. The Library Fund consists of 43% of foreign literature. The Fund comprises monographies, brochures, collections, papers of conferences, textbooks and teaching aids, reference books, encyclopedias, dissertations and synopses of dissertations.
