DLNP contribution to LIT cloud infrastructure
News, 13 February 2018
In December 2017, the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems bought 4 computer servers Dell equipped with Intel Xeon E5 processors. Servers are already assembled in the Laboratory of Information Technologies and will be used for simulation and analysis of data obtained in the Daya Bay and JUNO experiments in frames of the LIT cloud infrastructure.
A new data taking that contains statistics of more than 3 million interactions of electron antineutrino is prepared based on 1800 days of operation of the Daya Bay experiment. Event selection and statistical analysis of extended data taking by the DLNP group will be performed with the LIT support.
Now, the JUNO experiment is under the preparation. Cloud resources will be used for simulation and reconstruction of physical processes in the JUNO detector.
The computer cluster being developed at JINR will be a fully international system for analysis of JUNO experimental data.
