On 28 November 2017, the seminar “CEPC-SppC: Status and Perspective” was held in the Laboratory of High Energy Physics of JINR. The seminar was delivered by CEPC SppC accelerator Convener, Professor Jie Gao from the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of Beijing, China. Professor Jie Gao is a Member of the Linear Collider Board of the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA), one of the Members of which is JINR. Professor Jie Gao is also a Chairman of the Asian Linear Collider Steering Committee (ALCSC). The seminar was devoted to the present state of new promising Chinese projects: Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC), Higgs-bosons and/or z-bosons Factory, and future Super Proton-Proton Collider (SPPC).

During his visit to Dubna, Professor Jie Gao got acquainted with scientific infrastructure of JINR and its major research fields in the framework of the 4th International Training Programme for administrative and scientific personnel JEMS (JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries) that was held on 27 November – 1 December.

On 30 November 2017, a meeting of the JINR Directorate with Professor Jie Gao was held. During the meeting, development of scientific cooperation between China and JINR in the fields of accelerator physics was discussed. Popularization of prospects of China’s Membership restoration at JINR among Chinese scientific community was also discussed. One of the milestones of this meeting will be a return visit of JINR representatives to IHEP for discussion of particular initiatives on development of cooperation between the Institutes in the framework of NICA and CEPC mega-projects.

Acknowledged representatives of Chinese scientific community claim that the future facility will be 7 times more powerful than the Large Hadron Collider. Its circle will be nearly 80 kilometers long.
