Conference in Košice
The International Conference “Mathematical Modelling and Computational Physics” (MMCP 2011) is held on 4 – 8 July 2011 in Košice, Slovakia. It is organized by the Laboratory of Information Technologies JINR, the Institute of Experimental Physics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, the Technical University of Košice, the P.J. Shafarik University and the Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists.
Traditions are preserved
On 4 July 2011, the VI International Summer Student School on Nuclear Physics Methods and Accelerators in Biology and Medicine was launched at JINR. About 60 students from engineering, physics, biology, and medicine departments of universities of Poland, Russia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, France, and New Zealand participated in the School. The group of professors of the School is also international: lecturers come from universities of Bulgaria, New Zealand, Poland, Russia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and JINR. Students will learn about modern trends in nuclear physics methods, particle physics, nuclear medicine radiobiology, radiation detectors, and other topics.
Workshop to be opened in BLTP
On 18 July, the 23rd Laboratory Workshop “Supersymmetries and Quantum Symmetries” (SQS’2011) will be held at the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics. Meetings of this series, which have become traditional, are held on the initiative of reknown Dubna’s theoretical physicist, Professor Viktor Ogievetsky (1928 – 1996), and welcome leading specialists of this field.
