Conference of young scientists and specialists of FLNP
News, 07 December 2020
From 30 November to 2 December, the conference of young scientists and specialists of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics was held in the online format. The participants made reports on the results of work within the Youth Grants of the JINR Association of Young Scientists and Specialists, as well as presented their applications for I. M. Frank and F. L. Shapiro Scholarships, and AYSS Youth Grants for the next year.
It is not the first time when FLNP organizes the Conference of its young scientists and specialists at the end of the year. Despite the necessary online format, the Conference proceeded with active participation of FLNP staff, the staff of the FLNP STC, and the members of the jury of the competition. Overall, there was a total of more than 50 10-minutes oral reports, which were divided into separate sections. Also, there was an opportunity to view the brief contents of the reports online at any time.
Concluding the Conference, FLNP Director V. Shvetsov noted the diversity of the presented reports, which represent all the different research fields and works performed at the FLNP. The FLNP Directorate and the jury members expressed their gratitude to all the participants of the Conference, specifically noting the high level of all the reports.
Now the jury faces a difficult task of selecting the winners of the competition in each of nominations. Conference participants, on their part, will vote to select the three best presentations of their colleagues.
