The Special Economic Zone “Dubna” and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research announce the start of competition of youth scientific and technical projects. Applications for the competition can be submitted from 15 February.

The competition of youth scientific and technical projects was established by the Special Economic Zone “Dubna” and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research to support human resources and personnel development for enterprises-residents of SEZ “Dubna” so that to find and encourage talented school children, students, postgraduates, and young researchers of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research who work in the fields of scientific and technical creativity. The competition is also dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Special Economic Zone “Dubna”, the 65th anniversary of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, and the Year of Science and Technology declared in Russia.

The competition is held for two age groups:

• 7-17 year old school children
• students, postgraduates, and young researchers of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research under the age of 25.

Submitted projects will be evaluated in three categories: a) creative idea; b) working design; c) working programme code.

Topics of projects submitted for the Competition should correspond to one of the realms of activities of SEZ “Dubna” residents, including the following:

• complex technical systems;
• biomedical technologies;
• information technology;
• new materials;
• nuclear physics and nanotechnology.

Participants may apply for the competition from 15 February to 12 March using the form “Send application” on the web page http://oezdubna.ru/event/startup2021.

The results of the competition will be announced on 16 April at the jubilee business reception “Business territory” in honour of the 15th anniversary of SEZ “Dubna”. The results will be published on the website of the Economic Zone http://oezdubna.ru/event/startup2021 and in the media.

The winners in each of the categories and in each age group will receive a cash reward for further development of the project and a special prize.

The winners in each of the competition’s categories will be offered practical training in companies-residents of SEZ “Dubna”.

All participants of the competition will be invited to the jubilee business reception “Business territory” on 16 April 2021 dedicated to the 15th anniversary of SEZ “Dubna”, as well as will receive prizes and letters of thanks from the organizers of the competition.
