At the JINR Finance Committee meeting

A regular meeting of the JINR Finance Committee started today in the International Conference Hall. It was chaired by Svetlomira Harizanova (Republic of Bulgaria). JINR Director V.A.Matveev introduced the most significant events of JINR to participants of the Meeting, commented on the milestones of the 122nd session of the JINR Scientific Council that had considered progress of the NICA project, as well as status and prospects for the Factory of Superheavy Elements. The main results in 2017, the first year of implementation of the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR 2017-2023, show that the seven-year plan started successfully, and indicate intense scientific work and international cooperation development. Director noticed the most important scientific results obtained this year by JINR employees, and outlined the plans for scientific activities in 2018.
JINR Chief Accountant S.N.Dotsenko reported on the draft of the JINR budget for 2018 and on the draft of the membership fee of the JINR Member States for 2019, 2020, 2021. VBLHEP Director V.D. Kekelidze and JINR Vice-Director R.Lednický spoke on the progress of the NICA project and offers of allocation funds expenditure by the RF Government. Members of the Finance Committee considered the results of the Working Group for Financial Issues under the CP Chairman held on 20 November 2017, as well as the results of the audit of the Institute’s activities in 2016. N.V.Kalinin presented the analyses of application of JINR procurement regulations.
Synchrotron radiation in modern research was the topic of a scientific report of N. Kucherka (FLNP, JINR).
Tomorrow after the general discussion, adoption of the resolutions and signing of the Protocol, the meeting of the JINR Finance Committee will be finished.
