Visit of Delegation from Hungary

A representative delegation from Hungary visited JINR to participate in celebration of the 60th FLNP anniversary and to get acquainted with the Institute in the framework of the International training programme for decision-makers in science and international scientific cooperation JEMS – «JINR Expertise for Member States and Partner Countries» that was held on 27 November – 1 December 2017.
The delegation was represented by Director General of the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority Gyula Fichtinger, Director of the Institute for Nuclear Research ATOMKI of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Zsolt Dombradi, Technical Director of HAS INR Jozsef Molnar, Chairman of the JINR Programme Advisory Committee on Condensed Matter Physics Dénes Lajos Nagy, and Attaché for Science and Technology of the Hungarian Embassy Arnold Ács.
Following the JEMS programme, guests got acquainted with JINR basic facilities and scientific projects, met leading experts and specialists of JINR Laboratories. On 28 November 2017, the meeting of delegation with a group of JINR leaders was held chaired by JINR Vice-Director Richard Lednický.
Hungarian guests paid special attention to great success of JINR infrastructure development, multidisciplinary nature of the Institute’s research, and high level of educational programmes. Richard Lednický noted that the JINR Directorate makes systematic efforts to develop scientific contacts with Hungary. Thus, in 2016, a JINR Day in Hungary was held in the framework of celebrating the 60th JINR anniversary. That JINR Day in Hungary was devoted to presentation of educational and scientific and research potentials of JINR. The previous JINR Days in Hungary were held in 2008 by JINR jointly with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Office for Research and Technology. In 2012, JINR organized a round-table discussion with representatives of Hungarian innovative enterprises.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on elaboration of a draft programme of collaborative work in promising directions and on further visits exchange.
