14th Workshop “Modern problems in nuclear and elementary particle physics”

On 9 July, in Pohang, South Korea, the 14th APCTP-BLTP JINR Joint Workshop “Modern problems in nuclear and elementary particle physics” in honour of Prof. Yongseok Oh started. The Workshop aims to promote cooperation between researchers of the countries of Asia Pacific region and leading research centres of Russia in the fields of nuclear physics and elementary particle physics.
The scientific programme of the event covers such fields as hadron physics, nuclear physics, accelerator physics, physics beyond the Standard Model, dark matter, dark energy, and others.
The organizers of the Workshop are the largest South Korean universities, such as Pusan National University, Chungbuk National University, Kyungpook National University and others, as well as the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics JINR and Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute.
The Workshop will last until 15 July.
The first Workshop “Modern problems in nuclear and elementary particle physics” was organized by BLTP JINR and was held in Dubna on 18 – 23 June 2007. Then, the Joint Workshop was successfully held annually in the APCTP and JINR Member States.
