XXX International Conference “Mathematics. Computing. Education” started online
News, 23 January 2023
On 23 January, the 30th international conference “Mathematics. Computing. Education” began online at the Pushchino Scientific Centre for Biological Research (FRC PSCBR RAS). Traditionally, the event brings together specialists not only in mathematics and biology, but also chemistry, biomedicine, sociology, economics and philology.
During the opening of the conference, PSCBR Director Pavel Grabarnik noted that this unique venue is becoming something of a methodological workshop, with discussions formulating strategies for the development of research areas that can influence science policy.
Director of the JINR Laboratory of Information Technologies Vladimir Korenkov spoke at the opening of the conference. “The fact that the conference continues to take place even in the most difficult times indicates the stability and importance of the areas that are being discussed here. The conference is interdisciplinary and demonstrates the integration and interaction of different areas. This is especially relevant because almost all discoveries are now being made across different sciences,” he said. Vladimir Korenkov pointed out the crucial importance of combining all resources in the search for up-to-date knowledge. The Director of LIT invited the participants of the event to visit Dubna in January 2024 to join the next conference, which, as the organizers hope, will be held in-person.
The co-chairs of the conference, Professor of the Biophysics Department of the Biology Faculty of MSU Galina Riznichenko and Vyacheslav Komarov (Institute of Cell Biophysics of the Russian Academy of Sciences) presented reports on the history of the conference and the prospects for its development at the plenary session.
The programme of the anniversary conference includes sections and subsections “Mathematical models in science and technology”, “Information technologies in science and technology”, “Numerical methods and the basis of their implementation”, “Analysis of complex biological systems. Experiment and models”, “Analysis and modelling of socio-economic processes”, “Mathematical methods in economics and sociology (econophysics and sociophysics)”, “Natural-science and humanitarian education”, “Russian scientific language”, “Museum in the modern world”, round table “Cultural space of Russia”. In the frames of the MCE-2023 agenda, the Symposium-school “Biophysics of complex systems. Computational and systems biology. Molecular modelling” will be held.
The conference will last until 27 January.
