Winter meeting of the PAC for Condensed Matter Physics
Organization, 23 January 2019
The 49th meeting of the PAC for Condensed Matter Physics will be held on 24 – 25 January 2019 in the International Conference Hall.
Chairman of the Committee D.L. Nagy will report on implementation of the recommendations of the previous PAC meeting. Information on the Resolution of the 124th session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2018) and on the decisions of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries (November 2018) will be carried by JINR Vice-Director B.Yu. Sharkov. The agenda of the meeting includes the report by FLNP Director V.N. Shvetsov on the IBR-2 status, the report by D.P. Kozlenko “Condensed matter research at IBR-2: overview of main scientific results and instrumentation developments in 2018”, information about the FLNP User Programme that will be provided by D. Chudoba, and the report on the current state of the FSD diffractometer by G.D. Bokuchava.
The programme of the meeting includes a visit to the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions.
Participants of the meeting will discuss information of V.N. Shvetsov about an intent to open new themes: “Development of the critical design report for a new Dubna Neutron Source (DNS-IV)” and “Construction of the Laboratory for Structural Research of Macromolecules and New Materials at the SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre of the Jagiellonian University (Kraków, Poland)”, as well as the report by N. Kučerka on the JINR’s facility for structural research at SOLARIS. A.M. Balagurov will make the report “DNS-IV: present status and trends”.
