Winter meeting of PAC for Particle Physics

A regular, 56th meeting of the Programme Advisory Committee for Particle Physics of JINR chaired by Itzhak Tserruya will take place on 24 January 2022 online.
The PAC Chairman will open the meeting with a report on the implementation of the recommendations of the previous meeting of the PAC.
PAC members will hear the information on the Resolution of the 130th session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2021) and on the decisions of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries (November 2021) presented by JINR Vice-Director Vladimir Kekelidze.
Anatoly Sidorin, Nikolay Agapov, Adam Kisiel, and Mikhail Kapishin will make reports on the ongoing projects (Nuclotron-NICA, Infrastructure developments including the Nuclotron, MPD, and BM@N) with emphasis on the impact of the pandemic situation. Andrea Bressan will report on the SPD Detector Advisory Committee.
The agenda of the meeting will be continued with reports on the research results obtained by the JINR groups in the LHC experiments: ALICE (Elena Rogochaya), ATLAS (Evgeny Khramov), and CMS (Vladimir Karjavine).
Within the programme of the PAC meeting, poster presentations by young scientists will take place. The PAC members will meet with the JINR Directorate.
Adoption of the PAC’s recommendations including proposals for the next PAC meeting will conclude the event.
