On 14 July 2019, the Summer School “Physics. Mathematics. IT” was launched in Dubna. At the present School, students will have lectures on modern nuclear physics, cosmology, and radiomedecine and will be involved in project activities.
The Summer School is a platform for communication and immersion in science. Participants will be engaged in project activities, will solve Olympiad tasks and hear lectures delivered by young scientists.
This year, the Summer School extended the geography of its participants. Almost 100 school students from all over Russia came to the science city, and this number is twice larger than that of the previous year. Participants were selected according to the results of admission tests and personal achievements. During the presentation of the courses, school students were offered to choose a topic for their projects in the fields of physics, mathematics, or IT. Everyone could choose what attracted him the most. Moreover, the IT direction was added this year.
“It includes areas from cryptography (information safety) to the development of mobile applications, to English proficiency in the IT field. It requires to be able to solve programming tasks,” teacher and supervisor of the IT-direction Olga Melnikova said.
