A regular, the 58th Meeting of the Programme Advisory Committee for Particle Physics chaired by Itzhak Tserruya will take place on 21-22 June at the JINR International Conference Centre in a mixed format.

The PAC chairman will open the event and present information on the implementation of the recommendations of the previous meeting of the Committee. JINR Vice Director Vladimir Kekelidze will provide the Committee with information on the Resolution of the 133rd session of the JINR Scientific Council (February 2023) and on the decisions of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States (March 2023).

Reports on current projects will be presented by Anatoly Sidorin (“Nuclotron-NICA“), Nikolay Agapov (infrastructure development, including the Nuclotron), Victor Ryabov (MPD Project), Mikhail Kapishin (BM@N), and Alexey Guskov (technical design of the SPD Detector). The meeting will continue with reports on the scientific results obtained by JINR groups in experiments at the LHC: ALICE (Boris Batyunya), ATLAS (Tatiana Lyubushkina), and CMS (Vladimir Karjavin). After that, reports on the projects terminating in 2023 and proposals for their extension will be presented. Dmitry Peshekhonov (NA64), Sergei Afanasiev (SCAN-3), Igor Denisenko (BES-III), Artur Borodin (TAIGA), Maksim Gonchar (JUNO), Liudmila Kolupaeva (NOvA/DUNE), and Vladimir Korenkov (MICC) will present reports.

As part of the event, a proposal for a new AMBER Project, as well as a software project for modeling physical processes and experimental facilities, processing and analysing experimental data will be made. Alexei Guskov and Sergei Shmatov will make reports. The Committee members will consider written reports on the PANDA and COMPASS projects approved for completion in 2023.

Young scientists will give poster presentations on research in the field of particle physics as part of the PAC meeting programme. The PAC members will meet with the JINR Directorate. Adoption of the PAC recommendations and proposals for the agenda of the next session of the Committee will conclude the event.
