On 18 January 2021, the 54th meeting of the JINR Programme Advisory Committee for Particle Physics will take place in the videoconference format chaired by I. Tserruya.
Reports on current projects with a focus on the impact of the pandemic situation will be presented at the meeting: N. N. Agapov will speak about the infrastructure development, including the Nuclotron, the status of the MPD project implementation will be reported on by A. Kisiel, M. N. Kipishin will present the BM@N project status. Reports and proposals on the extension of the Nuclotron-NICA project (A. O. Sidorin) and the CBM project (V. P. Ladygin) will be made. G. D. Alexeev will present an offer to open a new project PANDA. Participants of the event will consider the conceptual design of the SPD experiment, which will be presented by A. V. Guskov.
Participants of the meeting will also consider written reports on the projects approved for completion in 2020: “Upgrade of the CMS detector” (A. V. Zarubin) and “R&D for the ALICE photon spectrometer” (A. S. Vodopyanov).
Reports on the scientific results obtained by the JINR groups in the LHC experiments will be made: ALICE (V. N. Pozdnyakov), ATLAS (E. V. Khramov), CMS (I. N. Gorbunov).
In the framework of the PAC PP meeting, members of the Committee will meet with the JINR Directorate.
Adoption of PAC recommendations including proposals for the next PAC meeting will conclude the event.
