Meeting of State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education at JINR

On 20 October, the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education will hold an extended guest meeting in Dubna at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The topic of the event will be “The potential of science cities and territories with high concentration of intelligence for the accelerated scientific and technological development of Russia: legislative context”.
Participants are going to discuss the support measures for the formation of favourable conditions to attract investment in the economy of science cities. The experience will be presented in development and efficient use of the scientific and technical potential of the science cities in the Moscow Region and Dubna as an example of a technopolis. Another topic of the discussion will be the involvement of the youth in the innovation economy for the development of the scientific and technological potential of science cities. Participants of the meeting will consider the most successful JINR practices as of an international intergovernmental scientific centre located in the Russian science city of Dubna.
Chair of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education Sergey Kabyshev and members of the Committee will represent the State Duma Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The event will be attended by representatives of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research headed by Director Grigory Trubnikov, Head of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Science of the Moscow Region Alexandra Antonova, Head of the Dubna City District Sergey Kulikov, and representatives of local government bodies, as well as representatives of public organizations.
As part of the visit to Dubna, the delegation of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education will get acquainted with the scientific infrastructure of the Laboratory of High Energy Physics JINR where they will learn about the implementation progress in the NICA megascience project. The programme also includes a visit to the JINR interactive exhibition dedicated to the history and basic facilities of the Institute.
