On behalf of the JINR Directorate, I express my deep gratitude to all who stood at the origins of the Institute, who brought it worldwide fame and popularity by their selfless labour, often in difficult conditions. Due to the support of governments of the JINR Member States, and especially the government of the Russian Federation which has granted our Institute excellent working conditions, our remarkable personnel the Institute is confident in its future, completing the implementation of the JINR Seven-Year Programme and outlining the plans for further development. I am sure that relying on our glorious past crowned by many bright achievements, discoveries, daring breakthroughs in fundamental research, we will go further, using the unique potential of our Institute and its extensive international relations and with joint efforts we will enrich international science and technology with new significant results.
