On 25 – 27 October, an anniversary conference “Current problems in radiation biology. To the 60th anniversary of the RAS Scientific Council on Radiobiology” will take place at the JINR International Conference Centre in a hybrid format. The plenary session of the RAS Scientific Council on Radiobiology will open the programme dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Scientific Council establishment.

On 25 October, at the plenary session, there will be reports on the creation, history, main stages of the Scientific Council, the role of the Scientific Council in the development of radiobiology. Participants will discuss organizational issues of the RAS Scientific Council on Radiobiology.

The scientific conference “Actual problems of radiation biology” will be held on 26 – 27 October. Participants will be presented with reports by leading scientists on current problems and tasks in the light of current trends in the development of radiobiology and radioecology. Young scientists and invited speakers will make reports.

At the opening of the event, co-chairs of the Conference Scientific Leader of the Laboratory of Radiation Biology JINR RAS Academician Evgeny Krasavin, Chairman of the RAS Scientific Council on Radiobiology RAS Academician Igor Ushakov, and Scientific Leader of the Russian Institute of Radiology and Agroecology RAS Academician Natalia Sanzharova will make speeches. A Hero of the Russian Federation Pilot-Cosmonaut Sergei Avdeev will address participants of the event with a welcoming speech.
