Winter meeting of PAC for Nuclear Physics

On 26 January, at the JINR International Conference Centre, a regular 56th meeting of the Programme Advisory Committee for Nuclear Physics of JINR will take place.
The report by JINR Director Grigory Trubnikov on the structure, main directions of JINR research, scientific results in recent years, and the development of JINR for 2024–2030 will open the event.
JINR Vice-Director Sergey Dmitriev will report on the Resolution of the 132nd session of the JINR Scientific Council (September 2022) and on the decisions of the JINR Committee of Plenipotentiaries (November 2022).
The central theme of the PAC meeting will be the draft Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR in nuclear physics for 2024 – 2030. There will be reports on the FLNR and FLNP main tasks in this field and proposals for the Seven-Year Plan for the Development presented by FLNR Director Sergey Sidorchuk and FLNP Director Valery Shvetsov.
Head of the DLNP Department Evgeny Yakushev will deliver a report “Research in non-accelerator neutrino physics and astrophysics and proposals for the Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2024 – 2030”. BLTP Deputy Director for Science Nikolay Antonenko will give a talk about the BLTP main tasks in the study of the theory of nuclear systems, status and proposals for the Seven-Year Plan. He will also make a proposal for the extension of the theme “Theory of nuclear systems”. The PAC NP members will consider the report by MLIT Director Vladimir Korenkov on the status and prospects of the laboratory’s scientific programme.
There will be a discussion on the main directions of the JINR development in the field of nuclear physics for 2024 – 2030. The PAC members will meet with the JINR Directorate.
Adoption of PAC recommendations and proposals for the agenda of the next PAC meeting will conclude the event.
