Winners of I. M. Frank Scholarship competition announced
News, 09 December 2021
The Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics JINR hosted the already traditional Conference of young scientists and specialists of FLNP from 30 November to 2 December. The first Conference was held in December 2016, when its participants were holders of grants of the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR for the previous year, applicants for the next year, and applicants for I. M. Frank and F. L. Shapiro Scholarships. This connection with the competitive procedures for supporting young researchers has been preserved to this day. The conference has become annual, its importance has increased significantly, and it has gradually acquired the role of a reporting conference of FLNP JINR.
Applicants are representatives of all scientific directions of the Laboratory and specialists who ensure the functioning and development of basic facilities. Thus, reports cover a wide range of topics, and participants have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of colleagues working in a different and unfamiliar area.
More than fifty reports at six sessions were presented at the 2021 Conference. The reports aroused great interest. During all three days, the number of online listeners rarely dropped below sixty. A community of young highly qualified scientists and specialists has formed at FLNP, which was determined by the wide range of participants and the high level of reports. At the same time, this community is already making a significant contribution to the number of scientific achievements of the Laboratory.
After thorough discussions and analysis of the submitted works, the jury made a decision and presented 5 winners of the competition for the I. M. Frank scholarship:
- Nagorna Tetiana – in the “Physics of Condensed Matter” section;
- Zakharov Maxim – in the “Neutron nuclear Physics” section;
- Podlesny Maxim – in the “Development of basic facilities” section;
- Nezvanov Alexander and Zel Ivan – in the “Scientific and methodological developments for neutron research” section.
JINR congratulates all the laureates on their well-deserved victory and wishes them further scientific success!
