TV Channel Nauka announced launch of ‘Film science!’ video contest

On 11 May, the TV Channel Nauka (lit. ‘Science’) has begun accepting applications for the second stage of the annual competition “Film science!”, a video contest. The best videos will be broadcast, and one of the participants will be given an opportunity to become a TV host of Nauka Channel.
“Film science!” is a competition of amateur videos and photos aimed at video bloggers, TV journalists, scientists, students, and everyone willing to make scientific videos and photos. The competition is held with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Russian Science Foundation. The main goal of the competition is to popularize scientific knowledge.
You can submit videos for the competition in 4 categories, including the special one of 2021.
- “Professional video”: a work of scientific teams and laboratories on the creation of new technologies and discoveries.
- “Amateur video”: a video depicting a scientific experiment accompanied by explanations of a researcher.
- “Children’s video”: a video about science with the participation of children aged under 14.
- “Space”: a special nomination dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the first human spaceflight.
Since the launch of the competition in 2016, more than 2,000 authors from 6 countries and 227 cities have taken part in the event. Participants have sent more than 7,000 photos and videos. The best ones were demonstrated on digital resources and on the air of the TV Channel Nauka.
Videos are accepted in the highest resolution, HD-quality, with a duration of 1 to 5 minutes and in the MPEG-4/MOV/AVI/MPEG-2 formats.
The deadline for submitting videos for the competition is 19 September. The award ceremony will take place at the Nauka 0+ festival.
