In early June of this year, the second stage of reconstruction of the “Nauka” stadium of JINR was started. During the summer period it is planned to restore the natural grass on the large football field and install bleachers, to carry out the design of external lighting system of the stadium, to replace the entrance gate to the stadium, and to upgrade certain sports equipment.

The second stage of the stadium reconstruction begins with recovery of the large football field. The contract for these works was signed with the “Sportgazon” company which is engaged in the natural grass fields service. Work has already begun and will continue according to the plans until the end of June. During this period, the old field will be completely ploughed, leveled, top dressed and a new sports grass used on football fields will be planted. Over the next summer months, the new grass should sprout and take root, and the staff of the “Nauka” stadium together with specialists of the “Sportgazon” company, responsible for regular watering, mowing, fertilizer and weed control will assist this. This is the most important period, as the grass is still very hurtable and it can ruined easily even because of walks on the field. In this regard, during this period, it is forbidden to use the football field for any purpose.

The remaining work in the frames of the second stage of the “Nauka” stadium reconstruction are parallel and will be implemented during the summer months.
