On 28 February 2024, the Laboratory of Information Technologies at JINR hosted 3-5-year students and teachers of the Department of Automated Systems for Computing Complexes of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of Lomonosov Moscow State University accompanied by Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Computing Complexes Vasily Balashov and Head of the Department Ruslan Smelyansky.

MLIT Scientific Leader Vladimir Korenkov made a presentation about the key areas of the laboratory’s activities, modern information technologies used to solve scientific and applied tasks, introduced the guests to conferences and student schools organized at the laboratory, and expressed hope for closer cooperation and interaction with MSU in the future. MLIT Researcher Maxim Zuev spoke about the architecture and tasks carried out at one of the components of the JINR MLIT Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex (MICC), the Govorun Supercomputer.

After the lectures, the students went on excursions. MLIT Researcher Igor Pelevanyuk spoke about interesting facts from the laboratory’s history and presented the JINR MICC. Then the delegation visited the «JINR Basic Facilities» interactive exhibition, where they got acquainted with all areas of JINR’s activities. Thanks to the interactive models of the exhibition, the students had an opportunity to visit all the laboratories of the Institute and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the experiments being conducted.
