Session of Scientific Council underway at JINR

On 24 February, the 131st regular session of the Scientific Council of the Joint Institute started in a mixed format.
Participants of the session listened to the report by JINR Director RAS Academician Grigory Trubnikov on the key results of the Institute. They also considered the recommendations of the Programme Advisory Committees of JINR for Particle Physics, Nuclear Physics, and Condensed Matter Physics adopted at the meetings in January 2022.
On the first day of the session, the concept of the new Seven-Year Plan for the Development of JINR for 2024-2030 was discussed.
On 24 February, participants of the 131st session of the JINR Scientific Council had a tour of the Laboratory of High Energy Physics where they got acquainted with the implementation of the megascience project NICA and visited the factory of superconducting magnets. On the second day of the event, there was an excursion to the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions where guests could learn about the Superheavy Element Factory, another flagship project of JINR.
