The JINR Universal Public Library invites students, their parents and all interested to a public talk “Follow your star”. The profession of translator is the topic of the meeting.

Interviewees:

2. Anastasia Kazaskova, simultaneous interpreter,
3. Svetlana Verbitskaya, teacher of translation at Dubna University.

The audience will receive answers to the following questions:

• What do linguistic departments teach?
• How does learning a foreign language differ from learning to translate from a foreign language?
• Is professional education as a translator necessary for someone who has decided to change their career path?
• Does the translator profession have a future, or will it be replaced by artificial intelligence?
