The International workshop in memory of Svetlana Petrovna Ivanova was held on 21 February 2009. Her friends, colleagues, pupils and relations gathered in the conference hall of Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics to make their reports and share their memories.

Svetlana Petrovna put great effort into the realization of the idea of creating the University Centre, and in 1991, when it was established as a JINR department, became its first director. Due to her initiatives a lot of Member States (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania) were involved in the participation in JINR educational programme.

She initiated, inspired and encouraged lots of important things, among which the creation of the UC logistical base, the opening of postgraduate course in JINR, the organization of students’ summer practice sessions at JINR, international schools “Nuclear-physical methods and accelerators in biology and medicine” and visits of schoolchildren from Member States.

Svetlana Petrovna made a great contribution into the foundation of International University of Nature, Society and Man “Dubna”, where she was the head of the International Department and the Department of Postgraduate Studies.
