On 30 March a delegation of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China headed by the Deputy Director-General Zhang Jianguo visited JINR. It included also the representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Moscow headed by the Minister-Counselor of the Science and Technology Department of the Embassy Yu Mingdou.

The membership restoration issue, different directions of China-JINR cooperation in science were disscussed at the JINR’s Directorate. Arrived delegation was especially interested in the Institute’s educational and training possibilities as well as in the academic exchange. Deputy Director-General Zhang Jianguo told shortly in an interview about it.

“China pays a great attention attention to JINR’s educational programmes. The two principal directions are of interest to us: the invitation of foreign specialists to work in China and the ordering abroad our specialists and engineers for training,” Zhang Jianguo told in an interview, “We will be glad to extend JINR-China cooperation in these areas.”

During a visit the Chinese delegation also had excursions to FLNR and to the International University of Nature, Society and Man "Dubna". A meeting was continued at a friendly dinner, where the concrete measures in the nearest future were selected. Particularly at the suggestion of the Embassy representatives next round of the membership restoration issue discussing can take place within the framework of a regular Intergovernmental Commission Russia-China, which will be held at Irkutsk in August.
