Within this three day visit working meetings were held in Belgrade’s Institute of Physics, the University of Novi Sad, Vinca Institute of Nuclear Science where the current state and prospects of cooperation between these institutions and JINR were discussed.
The delegation was welcomed in Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, where Yu. Oganessian, a foreign member of Serbian Academy gave a lecture on the discovery of superheavy elements. The central event of the visit was the meeting between JINR representatives and the Minister of Science and Technological Development of Serbia, B. Djelic, deputy prime minister of the Republic of Serbia. The meeting was devoted to the discussion of the immediate steps aimed at establishment of large-scale cooperation between Serbia and JINR within the Agreement signed in 2007 as well as at finding opportunities of successful speedy completing of TESLA project, designed and developed by mutual efforts of Vinca Institute and JINR.
