The Mayor of Nová Dubnica, Slovakia Mr Peter Marušinec stayed in Dubna from 11 to 13 October on an official visit. The programme of his visit included a meeting with the Mayor of Dubna V.Prokh, visits to the University “Dubna”, the special economic zone “Dubna” and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

On 12 October, the guest was received at the JINR Directorate by Academician V.Matveev, Professor M.Itkis, V.Katrasev. Mr P.Marušinec had excursions to the basic facilities of the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions JINR and was acquainted with proton therapy research at the Laboratory of Nuclear Problems of JINR.

This visit was held in the frames of the contract of intents signed between the administrations of Dubna and Nová Dubnica and was aimed at establishing miscellaneous ties between the communities of the two cities.

It is expected in future that our cities should become twinned that will positively influence the development of scientific and economic relations of JINR with the Slovak Republic.
