The institution of the CIS Award in Innovations named after RAS Academician, Vice-Director and then Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research Alexei Sissakian, who prematurely passed away two years ago, was announced at the International Forum "Innovations. CIS. Future ". It was held on 4 and 5 April 2012 in Dubna and Moscow. As a member of the supervisory board of the Special Economical Zone “Dubna”, A.N.Sissakian headed the scientific and technical council on nuclear physics technology and nanotechnology established under his guidance. Many of the innovative projects of the companies-residents of SEZ received “their start in life” thanks to his efforts.
