Director General of the State Corporation “Rosatom” Sergei Kirienko visited Dubna on 30 January 2014. He met with JINR Director Academician Viktor Matveev, members of the JINR Directorate, leading scientists and specialists of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the Veksler and Baldin Laboratory of High Energy Physics. Director General of Rosatom was acquainted with the accelerator complex and the major directions of fundamental and applied research at FLNR. At VBLHEP he was shown the NICA project, the Nuclotron accelerator on superconducting magnets, he was informed about research programmes and application of fundamental research for practical use. Sergei Kirienko showed great interest to construction of the complex for assembly and testing of superconducting magnets for large-scale projects NICA in Russia and FAIR in Germany on the territory of VBLHEP.
